Research Trainings

  • Training in sustainable aquaculture systems based on BFT: DCs need to acquire a deep knowledge of the biological concepts and management of BFT, and about BFT-based alternative aquaculture systems: IMTA and FlocPonics.
  • Training in potential target species under BFT: training in biological concepts, market opportunities and management of potential species to be produced using BFT, with the aim to adapt European aquaculture species to BFT.
  • Training in industry perspective: DCs will carry out inter-sectoral secondments, short visits and workshops to be aware of the interests and concerns of aquaculture industry actors, and how BFT may solve current challenges. Additionally, the industry will participate in the training programme to provide their commercial perspective and share market needs.
  • Acquisition of transversal competences for personal and professional development: DCs will acquire selected transferable skills essential to accomplish a successful academic or professional career, such as management and analyses of scientific data, critical and practical thinking, effective communication, knowledge transfer, entrepreneurship, fundraising and career development.
