SwitchFloc takes part in the 11F ETSIAMB 2026 Conference
The SwitchFloc project will take part in the 11F ETSIAMB 2026 Conference, which will be held on 11 February at the Manuel Alonso Peña Building Auditorium, in Albacete. The event is organised within the framework of the ETSIAMB Research Stays Programme, aimed at fostering scientific exchange and increasing the visibility of research in the fields of agricultural, environmental, and biotechnological sciences.
The programme includes a series of short talks covering a wide range of topics, from biotechnology and reproduction to agri-food systems, ecology, and innovation in sustainable production systems. Within this context, a dedicated space will be devoted to aquaculture and sustainability-oriented innovative approaches.
In particular, Silvia Martínez Llorens, from the Universitat Politècnica de València, ICTA member and supervisor of one of the SwitchFloc Doctoral Candidates, will present the talk “What if waste became a resource? Biofloc and multitrophic systems in aquaculture”. Her presentation will address the potential of biofloc technology as a key tool to move towards more efficient, circular, and environmentally friendly aquaculture systems, fully aligned with the objectives of the SwitchFloc project.
The conference will also include a poster session and the presentation of the ETSIAMB Research Stays Programme (3rd edition), providing an open space for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and collaboration opportunities among students, researchers, and participating institutions.
From the SwitchFloc project, we would like to thank the ETSIAMB and the University of Castilla-La Mancha for organising this event and for the invitation to take part in a forum that promotes scientific dissemination and knowledge exchange.
