PhD Position at the Universidade do Porto within the SwitchFloc Grant Agreement – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)
The SwitchFloc Grant Agreement is a project funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme, aimed at training the next generation of professionals in the innovative field of Biofloc Technology (BFT). The project offers a highly international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral research environment, promoting close collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners within the aquaculture sector.
We are currently inviting applications for a PhD position entitled:
“Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture Based on BFT as a Novel Strategy for Fish and Mollusc Production”
This doctoral research will focus on the development of an Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture system based on Biofloc Technology (IMTA-BFT), combining two fish species with a filter-feeder species. The PhD candidate will be actively involved in the design and preparation of experimental activities, as well as in the monitoring of zootechnical trials.
The selected candidate will carry out laboratory analyses of products and samples generated during experimental trials and will contribute to the interpretation and discussion of the results obtained throughout the project. In addition, the PhD student will be encouraged to prepare scientific publications and actively participate in the dissemination of the project’s outcomes through conferences, workshops, and other outreach activities.
