PhD Position at Naturalleva within the SwitchFloc Grant Agreement – Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)
The SwitchFloc Grant Agreement is a project funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme, aimed at training the next generation of professionals in innovative and sustainable aquaculture systems based on Biofloc Technology (BFT). The project provides a highly international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral research environment, fostering close collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners.
We are currently inviting applications for a PhD position entitled:
“Optimization of Physical Characteristics of Commercial Aquafeed”
The main objective of this PhD position is the optimization of the physical characteristics and manufacturing processes of commercial aquafeed designed for closed aquaculture systems, with the goal of maximizing handling efficiency, protein digestibility, ammonia excretion control, and feed stability at VRM SRL (Verona).
This research aims to establish a clear relationship between feed formulation and achievable physical properties, contributing to the development of high-performance aquafeeds adapted to the specific requirements of intensive and closed production systems. The PhD candidate will work closely with industrial partners, gaining valuable experience at the interface between research and commercial feed production.
The selected candidate will be encouraged to contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and the dissemination of project outcomes within both academic and industrial contexts.
